Abstract

The reusability study of EGNiO catalyst for degradation of remazol brilliant blue (RBB) dye was carried out at specific optimum condition. After seventh cycles, the overall degradation rate shows that only small decreases that less than 18%, showing that the catalyst is stable. It is suggested that heat treatment and scouring of catalyst surface plays an important role during these reusability process. No ions leached was obtained using AAS analysis reveals that the generation of hydroxyl radicals were fully utilized during photocatalytic reaction due to no deposition of RBB on the catalyst surface. Excellent photoactivity performance with better photoresponse in visible light and good catalyst stability make these EGNiO catalyst as potential catalyst to be used in wastewater treatment system.
