Abstract

AbstractInvited for this month's cover is the group of Satoshi Honda from the University of Tokyo. The cover picture shows a “Shodo” and “Origami” art of a Kanji character meaning “flow” and a girl having a column for chromatography. Shodo is Japanese Calligraphy with a brush and India ink and recognized as a traditional craft art drawing, which requires herculean effort to create a good piece. One of the authors in the paper, Ms. Minami Oka, is a Shodo Master, which means like Jedi Master in Star Wars films and created the cover. The brush indicated in the figure is the column for chromatography as the mechanism for creating Kanji character in Shodo is similar to paper chromatography.
