Abstract

Acinic cell carcinoma (AciCC) is one of the rare malignant tumors of minor salivary gland. Our case is of 52 year old female who presented up with a secondary recurrence of Acinic cell carcinoma in her right cheek, the tumour is characterized by acinar cells with abundant basophilic granular cytoplasm. Surgical resection has been the choice of clinicians and role of radiotherapy is debatable. High grade transformation as seen in this case, merits further studies to know its etiopathogenesis. Long term follow up is required in these patients owing to its late recurrence being now reported in the literature.
