Abstract
Five cases of secondary and recurrent herpes simplex conjunctivitis without corneal involvement are presented. The disease may vary from an asymptomatic conjunctivitis to a severe ulcerative disease. Each case was confirmed by isolation of the virus, and one patient demonstrated herpes antigen in conjunctival tissue.
