Abstract
Abstract Mollaret's meningitis is a recurrent benign aseptic meningitis mainly occurring in adults. We report a 9-year-old female child with three episodes of recurrent aseptic meningitis with periods of complete normalcy in between the episodes. Her neuroimaging findings were normal. The investigations for immunodeficiency and for the presence of structural nervous system anomaly were also normal. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) polymerase chain reaction test was negative in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The patient was diagnosed with Mollaret's meningitis on the basis of the clinical course, CSF findings, and absence of other causes for the meningitis.
