Abstract

We would like to describe an unusual case of a 64-year-old man with carcinoma of unknown primary site (CUPS), who presented with recurrent arterial embolisation. The man, known to have diabetes mellitus, coronary artery and peripheral vascular disease, presented with right lower extremity pain and numbness of a few hours duration. Physical examination revealed a cold right foot with weak pedal pulse and reduced sensation. These symptoms were attributed to arterial insufficiency and thrombosis. Therefore, he was started on anticoagulation and sent for surgical thromboembolectomy.
