Abstract

Most recurrences in breast cancer after mastectomy appear in superficial skin and subcutaneous tissue at the mastectomy site. Although local recurrence can be observed in patients in whom reconstruction is performed by distant donor tissue.The case is presented of a 57-year-old woman with a local recurrence in deep inferior epigastric perforators (DIEP) reconstructed breast. The first cancer was an infiltrating ductal cancer with low-grade intraductal focus and negative hormonal receptors, and the recurrence was an infiltrating ductal cancer with negative hormonal receptors.
