Abstract
Die Rektozele, meist begleitet von einer rektalen Intussuszeption, bedingt fallweise die qualenden Symptome einer Enddarmentleerungsstorung, auch ODS (obstruktives Defakationssyndrom) genannt. Die Diagnose ergibt sich aus der Anamnese und Palpation, erganzt durch Proktoskopie und Defakografie. Initial ist immer eine konservative Therapie indiziert. Bei deren Versagen kommen Operationen zur Anwendung – zumeist das peranale Verfahren des anterioren Mukosastrippings, seltener die transabdominale Rektopexie, welche weniger Komplikationen mit sich bringt als die STARR („stapled transanal rectal resection“).
