Abstract

We study the directed transport of Brownian particles in a periodic potential in the presence of a spatio-temporal colored noise and an unbiased external force. Based on the Fokker-Planck method, we obtain the analytical expression of the current for Brownian particles. We find that the spatio-temporal colored noise plays a significant role in the directed transport of Brownian particles, and it can remarkably affect the current. There exists an optimal value of the spatio correlation length at which the current takes its maximal value.
