Abstract

This paper, using a case study methodology, will analyze the qualifications recruitment and training of volunteer geriatric health outreach workers in a black inner city community in the midwest. The outreach program known as Project GOH enhances the network of natural helpers in the community through an organized program to provide support to the elderly and their families. Recommendations are made for the development of training programs for the elderly in other communities.
