Abstract

Graft-versus-host reaction (GVHR) enhanced the expression of endogenous xenotropic C-type RNA viruses and not of ecotropic C-type viruses in the spleens of CAF-1 hybrid mice. This observation suggests a specific xenotropic virus response during the GVHR in mice and indicates that ecotropic viruses are not necessarily expressed during GVHR. The possible role of xenotropic viruses in the GVHR-induced malignancy is considered.
