Abstract

ABSTRACT In this study, recovery of rubidium(I) with potassium cobalt hexacyanoferrate (K2[CoFe(CN)6]) was studied by adsorption method. For the adsorbent characterization, XRD and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) analyzes were performed and FAAS was used for the elemental analysis. The Rb(I) ion adsorption onto the adsorbent from aqueous solution was investigated under the different experimental conditions such as pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time and temperature. One mole of NaOH was used as eluent for the recovery of rubidium(I) onto the adsorbent. The results showed that K2[CoFe(CN)6] was a suitable and efficient material for high Rb(I) adsorption capacity from boron industrial waste.
