Abstract

Uptake of cesium ions from aqueous solutions with tripolite modified with nickel(II) and copper(II) ferrocyanides was studied. The composite sorbent based on tripolite and nickel(II) ferrocyanide exhibits the highest sorption-selective (K d 1.6 × 104 cm3 g−1 against the background of 0.1 M NaCl) and kinetic properties among the samples studied. It efficiently takes up cesium ions from aqueous solutions, including salt-containing solutions.
