Abstract

Epileptic seizures result from electrical hypersynchronization of neuronal networks in the cerebral cortex and characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures due to a genetically determined or acquired brain disorder [1]. Nonepileptic seizures are sudden changes in behavior that resemble epileptic seizures but are not associated with the typical neurophysiological changes that characterize epileptic seizures [2]. Absence seizures or complex partial seizures can be difficult to distinguish from nonepileptic seizure or events when using only the patient's history or by observation [3].
