Abstract

In a recent review of the phoretic relationship between Mallophaga and Hippoboscidae (Keirans 1975), I recorded over 400 cases of this interesting phenomenon. There also exist a few examples of phoresy between Mallophaga and insects other than Hippoboscidae. To give as complete a list as possible of all records of mallophagan phoresy, the following collections are cited. Except for Philopterus sp. and Nirmus sp., all records involve Mallophaga normally ectoparasitic on mammals.
