Abstract

Laser recording on optical recording media with thermal coloration was investigated. The basic recording principle is a thermally induced hole opening following the chemical reaction between a coloring reagent layer and a coupler reagent layer. Sensitivity dependence on light absorbers in this optical recording medium was investigated. Almost equalized sensitivity for the three-colors recording was achieved by adjusting the thicknesses of the light absorbers.
