Abstract

Numerous experiments on acoustics have already been described in this column, e.g., on the different types of sound or on acoustic beats. The topic of cavity resonance and the determination of the speed of sound from the resonance frequencies of various tubes, glasses, and bottles has also been addressed several times. A topic that has not yet been considered is the recording of a resonance curve. We would like to present here an experimental possibility with very simple devices. Apart from two smartphones, all you need is a wine glass.
