Abstract

Electrical properties tomography (EPT) noninvasively reconstructs electrical properties (EPs) in human bodies from the radio-frequency magnetic field with magnetic resonance imaging. Although our previously proposed EPT method stably obtained EP distributions, EP reconstruction errors occurred because the unmeasurable magnetic field components were ignored. This study proposes a novel method to estimate the unmeasurable magnetic fields and to apply it to our previously reported EPT method. The results obtained from a numerical simulation and an experimental phantom indicate that the proposed estimation of the unmeasurable magnetic fields suppresses EP errors.
