Abstract

In elementary particle physics, the characteristics of the events can be distorted to varying degrees due to instrumental effects, which leads to inaccuracies in experimental distributions. To solve such difficulties and restore distributions close to the true, a various mathematical approaches are used. In this paper, we examine the quality of unfolding methods for solving this problem. Different variants of unfolding are tested for the quality of restoring the true distribution by simulating the passage of cosmic ray particles through the PAMELA magnetic spectrometer. The following algorithms were analyzed: D’Agostini, SVD and TUnfold.
