Abstract

Based on the limited open data on natural radionuclide contents in soil and the pedological parameters, a digital version of database with about 15,000 sets of naturally occurring 238U, 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K data in soil in China was constructed by manual editing and spatial interpolation. Both the area-weighted averages of the 4 radionuclides contents and their distributions well agree with those published in previous references. This implies that the database has been successfully reconstructed. Furthermore, digital nationwide maps of the radionuclide contents were also created. It is hoped that the reconstructed database would be helpful for further scientific studies in related fields.
