Abstract

Certain properties of the solutions of direct problems in magnetostatics on a plane with sinusoidal ferromagnet–air boundaries are analyzed. The consideration is based on approximation of the linearity of the magnetic properties of a ferromagnet. To solve the problem, the finite element method and the Fourier transform implemented in the MATLAB program package are widely used. The region of linearity of the direct magnetostatic problem with respect to the boundary amplitude is established. The result will form the basis for a method of solving the inverse geometric magnetostatic problem of reconstructing the ferromagnet–air boundary.
