Abstract

Abstract A method is described to obtain the intensity distribution of a positron source used in measurements of the two-dimensional angular correlation of annihilation radiation (2D-ACAR). The method is based on the tomographical reconstruction of the source image on the sample by measuring the instrumental resolution function with the aid of the positronium peak from a quartz single crystal for various azimuthal orientations of the source.
