Abstract
In order to realize the on-line monitoring process for IGBT modules in the three-level NPC inverters, monitoring method based on the saturated voltage drop (VCE) has been widely utilized due to its mature technique. The three-level NPC inverter has an O state during normal operation, in which the monitoring current can be injected into the inverter to achieve on-line monitoring of the IGBT’s junction temperature. Generally, the three-level NPC inverter’s O state duration is not long enough, but the reliability and safety of the monitoring process must be guaranteed. Therefore, this paper proposes a reconfiguration strategy of the saddle-shaped modulation wave based on SVPWM innovatively, which provides an optimal environment for the given inverter to achieve on-line monitoring of IGBT modules. The simulation model is given to verify the reliability of the reconfiguration strategy at the end of this paper.
