Abstract

To satisfy different security requirements, a method for generating reconfigurable nonlinear hybrid cellular automata (NHCA) is proposed based on the method proposed by Shamit Ghosh in ACIR 2014. The theoretical analyses show that the reconfigurable nonlinear cellular automata constructed has the maximum period characteristics and it is a reversible nonlinear cellular automata. Based on the reconfigurable NHCA, a pseudo-random number generator is presented further. And the theoretical analyses show that the pseudo-random number generator based on the reconfigurable NHCA has nice statistical properties and provides a resistance to the correlation attack, linear attack, algebraic attack and MS attack.
