Abstract

This paper presents a new reconfigurable multi-band bowtie antenna for WiFi, WiMax, and WLAN applications. The proposed antenna is capable of switching between single, dual and triple band operating mode. The antenna uses two pairs of slot in the ground plane to create new working frequency bands. The additional bands creating by the integration of slots are optimized to operate at 2.4 GHz and 3.5 GHz. The antenna without slots work in WLAN band at 5.8 GHz. It is fed by 50 Ohm coplanar waveguide (CPW) line. Frequency reconfiguration is obtained by controlling the state of switches integrated in the two pairs of slot. To present the work, simulated reflection coefficient, and radiation pattern with gain performance are presented and discussed.
