Abstract

In this paper, we propose a reconfigurable acoustic metagrating composed of periodic rotatable slit tubes and a sound hard plane for realizing multiple anomalous wavefront manipulation functionalities: specular reflection, three-channel retroreflection, and beam splitting. The acoustic metagrating can manipulate the reflectances of different diffracted waves by changing the rotational angle of slit tubes. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulations demonstrate the proposed metagrating can stimulate specific diffraction orders and achieve the desired functionalities. Our research work provides a good method for designing reconfigurable acoustic devices with multiple functionalities and has potential applications in acoustic sensing, acoustic communication, and noise mitigation.
