Abstract

In a Web-based distributed system reconciling of disagreeing data is needed when a data conflict exists. A conflict of data is a situation in which some sites of the system generate and store different versions of data which refer to the same subject (problem solution, event scenario etc.). Thus in purpose to solve this problem one final data version called a consensus of given versions should be determined. In this paper we present a consensus system serving to representing data conflicts; the definition of consensus; the postulates for consensus choice functions and their analysis.
