Abstract

4d-based recombination spectra have been measured from solid rare earths La, Ce, Gd, Tb, Dy, and Tm. Monochromatized synchrotron radiation has been used to get pure Auger spectra, whereas nonmonochromatic (white light) radiation excitation has been used to enhance direct recombination structures. The experimental results should complement the earlier studies carried out using electron-impact-excitation.
