Abstract

The boundary layer between a thin flat quartz plate and a propaneoxygen premixed flame at 25 Torr has been studied, under conditions where the flow is parallel to the surface of the plate. Profiles of velocity, temperature, and OH concentration have been determined. First order recombination kinetics of OH on the quartz wall are determined from these data by three different procedures: the gradient method, the integral method, and through Rosner's theory. An extension of Rosner's theory has been developed for the last of these three methods.
