Abstract
The Smoluchowski equation for a pair of molecules with anisotropic reactivity and interaction potential is solved in the limit of a small reactive region (small reactive patches). In the steady-state case steric factors are calculated using this solution. The kinetics of geminate pair recombination is also obtained and analyzed in detail.
