Abstract
SUMMARY In this article, we present a case study related to the New South Wales (NSW) Synod of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA). We look at the gap between the official theology of the Church and its policy and practice, compare this to the Church's approach to other groups who have experienced barriers to Church participation, and outline a project which is attempting to move the Church forward to a more appropriate praxis.
