Abstract
Within our institution, surgery that may cause postoperative airway complications is frequently performed by several surgical specialties. A strategy to improve awareness and management of these associated complications was developed after several clinical incidents involving delayed recognition of postoperative anterior neck haematomas (ANHs), including a cardiac arrest in a patient who had deteriorated over several hours after right partial glossectomy and selective neck dissection.
