Abstract
A unique classification scheme used in our psychiatric library had long been recognized as inadequate, and the coming of the new edition of the National Library of Medicine Classification provided an opportune occasion to make a change. This paper describes a simple method of reclassifying which was used to make our cataloguing procedures consistent with those of other medical libraries using NLM and MeSH, and which could be accomplished with a minimum of inconvenience and staff time in a small library.
