Abstract

Patients desperately need thefu doctor to listen to thetn, to know that their doctor Iinally heard full,v,vhat they have to say. But doctors becane so bttsy that they train themselvcs to do many things at the same tinte; they do other things while listening. And b1, this, doctors have lost the art of Iistening. They need to decide Ibr themselves (and believe it) that to Iisten carefully is a powerful therapeutic tool, that doing is not always necessary. -And then, to consciottsly nurture the art of listening to their patients.
