Abstract

The question of law and justice is always at the center of the literary works of the jurist Ferdinand von Schirach. Moreover, this problem has a long tradition within the classical canon. Many poet-lawyers, such as Kleist, Goethe, Kafka, and Durrenmatt, placed the focus of their works on this question.The relationship between law and literature seems to be of interest to Ferdinand von Schirach because he addressed law and justice both indirectly and directly in the focus of his works.This study examines the theme of law and justice in the works of the bestselling German author Ferdinand von Schirach and presents the play Terror (2015) as an example. I have chosen to do so because the subject matter of this play is highly relevant for our time.
