Abstract

Action-research and public space So-called unofficial researchers gave new insight into urban research in the 80s. They initiated a critical thought process on the action being taken in difficult neighbourhoods by giving foreigners and fringe groups from low-cost housing projects access to local public spaces and social recognition. The result is a «citizen-research» experience which remains to be evaluated.
