Abstract

Maximum-likelihood and Bayesian algorithms for detecting and estimating the arrival time of an arbitrary-shape signal observed against the background of white Gaussian noise are synthesized. Asymptotically exact expressions for the characteristics of the maximum-likelihood algorithms are found. Computer simulation of the synthesized algorithms is performed.
