Abstract

The main objective of this article is to investigate the latest trends in the formation of terminological units in the field of software development and to identify translation difficulties of multi-component terms, which serve as a primary means of enhancing international communication in innovative developments and the interaction of the IT industry at the international level. The work is aimed at addressing the problems of forming and translating terms in Ukrainian technical documentation related to software development. The field of information technology is currently in a stage of active development, which complicates the work of Ukrainian professionals in improving business processes and communications. Specifically, the terminology of scientific-technical discourse in the field of IT development and programming is based on English-language terms.
One of the main factors complicating translation is the presence of a large amount of multi-component lexicon in the terminology system of computer English. The article analyzes technical terms in the field of software development, substantiates the peculiarities of forming terminological units, and traces methods of their translation into the Ukrainian language. The analysis results in the identification of word-formation models of complex term words. Another important aspect of the research is the enrichment of the analyzed terminological system with terms-abbreviations and acronyms. A conclusion is drawn regarding the peculiarities of translational transformations and the main difficulties encountered by translators during their work.
