Abstract
ABSTRACT Allergic rhinitis is an inflammatory, immunoglobulin E (IgE)- mediated disease, characterized by nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and sneezing with or without nasal itching. It can significantly interfere with patient's quality of life. The goals of treatment are to provide the patient with symptomatic relief and improve the quality of life with minimal adverse effects. Prevention has been a large focus in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, but few interventions have proven effective. Although dust mite allergies are more common.
