Abstract

Agricultural development plays a major role in improving food security and rural livelihood by increasing the quality and diversity of food; as driver of economic development transformation and because agriculture is the main source of income for a majority of the people who live in the most extreme poverty. Earning sufficient income from agriculture is key for the 1.3 billion people who work in the sector and directly determines their food security. Extensive experience across many countries over many years shows that both agricultural development and economic wild growth are needed to improve food security and rural livelihood.The idea of editing this book, based on the contributions from several researches working on various aspects of recent trends in food security and rural livelihood are conceived from the international conference on “Recent Trends in Agriculture towards Food Security and Rural Livelihood” is organised jointly by the All India Agricultural Students Association, Tamil Nadu and Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University on 3rd and 4th January 2020. several eminent and distinguished scientists, teachers, PhD scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students are participated in the conference.The book will be useful for researchers’ faculty and students who seek information on various dimensions of food security and rural livelihood.
