Abstract

The High Acceptance Di- Electron Spectrometer (HADES) is a detector system currently being built at GSI (Darmstadt) by a collaboration of about 110 physicists from 19 institutions1. When completed, HADES will be used to measure the production of lepton pairs in pion, proton, and heavy ion induced reactions at SIS energies.
