Abstract

Nonlinear matched filters involve the transformation of the filter transfer function and/or the signal spectrum through pointwise nonlinearities before they are multiplied in the transform domain.1,2 By using special transform techniques, very high power of discrimination and resolution are achieved, in a way similar to inverse filtering but without the associated ill-conditioned behavior of inverse filters. In certain cases, optical implementation is also sufficiently simple. In this paper, most recent studies with these papers are reported.
