Abstract
In 2017, significant revisions were made to many of the oil and gas industry guidance documents that the geophysical sector widely uses to safely plan and manage its operations. The industry documentation discussed here is primarily published by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP). These industry documents cover three tiers of guidance on managing health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) issues applicable to geophysical operations. The three tiers of HSSE guidance documents are: Tier 1: Management systems — development and implementation Tier 2: Specific management system aspects — contractor management Tier 3: Sector specific — managing geophysical risks
