Abstract

The authors present an overview of some of the most recent results from the BABAR experiment. They discuss the latest measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in neutral B decays to several CP eigenstates, that in the Standard Model (SM) is proportional to sin 2{beta}. They present measurements of branching fractions and CP-violating asymmetries in neutral B decays to two-body final states of charged pions and kaons, that are related to the angle {alpha} of the Unitarity Triangle. They also report the B{sup 0} lifetime measurement obtained from studying the B{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup -} {pi}{sup +} and B{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup -} {rho}{sup +} decay channels and the B{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup -} a{sub 1}{sup +} branching fraction, obtained using a partial reconstruction technique. These measurements serve as a test and validation of the procedures required to measure the combination of CKM Unitarity Triangle angles sin(2{beta} + {gamma}).
