Recent Progress of Marine Natural Products Research in China

Abstract

Marine organisms are a rich source of novel,bioactive secondary metabolites which have attracted a great deal of attention from the scientists in the fields of chemistry,pharmacology,ecology,and molecular biology. Recently,many complex and structurally unique secondary metabolites have been isolated from the marine organisms. These metabolites are responsible for various bioactivities such as anti-tumor,anti-inflammation and antioxidant activities,and they act on the car-diovascular system. This review focuses on the marine natural products isolated from the marine organisms,as well as their biological activities by Chinese scientists in 2007.
