Abstract

Silicon-containing heterocyclic compounds are widely used in synthetic organic chemistry, material chemistry and medicinal chemistry due to their unique physicochemical properties. Thus, from the drug and material discovery viewpoints, development of methodology to access diverse silacycles is of great significance and in great demand. Among these, transition metal catalysis provides a powerful and straightforward synthetic method to form diverse silacycles in a step-economical fashion. This article summarized the recent progress in transition metal catalyzed silicon-containing heterocycles synthesis.
