Abstract

Progress in CWE over the past 6 years in the fields of environmental control and urban design is reviewed. Various revised k-e models have been proposed in order to overcome the well-known drawback of the standard k-e model, i. e. overestimation of k around front corner of a bluff body. Research efforts on the modeling of Second Moment Closures are still continuing, but have not yet succeeded in the accurate reproduction of flow around a bluff body. LES researches have achieved great progress in recent years. Applications of dynamic LES have been spreading rapidly. It is also pointed out that the growth of CWE applications has brought a situation to provide many simulations with various scales coupled with each other. A new concept of integrating these various simulations is proposed as a software platform.
