Abstract
Various aspects of studies of molecular dynamics in liquid crystals are discussed. The 4-nitrophenyle 4-octyloxybenzoate (NPOB) is chosen as the exemplary substance. Relaxation phenomena connected with a transition from a metastable to stable solid, reorientations of liquid crystals molecules and their segments, Kerr effect relaxation, rotational viscosity and positron annihilation life times are discussed in particular.
