Abstract

Abstract The technique of nuclear magnetic resonance on beta-emitting nuclei (β-NMR) has been implemented at the NSCL to measure the ground state g factors of spin-polarized radioactive nuclei produced via projectile fragmentation. Recent developments to extend this technique to very exotic nuclear systems include the implementation of a multiple adiabatic fast passage technique for β-NMR and the use of thick production targets to improve the yield of spin-polarized secondary fragments.
