Abstract

Abstract The age of nanotechnology is the biggest scientific and technical innovation in history. Nanotechnology is the study of manipulating matter at the atomic and molecular levels. The word “nano” means “dwarf” in Greek. Total oral health maintenance has been made achievable by nanodentistry through the use of nanomaterials, biotechnology, tissue engineering, and eventually dental nanorobotics. Thanks to nanotechnology, hopes for better oral health-care delivery and ongoing maintenance have increased while the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of oral illnesses are still being studied. This review article aims to emphasize the safety and ethical issues surrounding the use of nanotechnology in dentistry, as well as to detail the current state of nanotechnology in the field and the many nanomaterials utilized in it.
